Overlay layers

To view these without the village polygons on top, pick None under Village category. Protected areas are the India-WRIS national layer (republishing MoEFCC boundaries, latest notification year 2021). Corridors are drawn with protected ground removed. Recorded Forest Area is ~20 MB and loads on demand.

Kerala publishes its own ESA as KML, defined as village portions. 98.1% of that official area falls inside these whole-village polygons — so the blue outline should sit within the purple, and the purple extends beyond it. The reverse figure is 66.7%, because a whole village is larger than the portion of it that was notified.

Gazette rows with no polygon here. Mostly structural — entries naming two features at once, rows repeated for different survey blocks, or hamlets below census village granularity — rather than name-matching failures.

Per-state files. The attribute table is identical in every format and carries the 2011 Census code and the LGD village code.
